After the #esslingen #makerspace workshop: Installed my #tinyGS on our balcony in #jenalichtstadt and it looks good. Donated the exceed money (190€) from the collective order, feels good. Now building the stations for my parents and parents-in-law places during #xmas vacation. 🎅📡🛰️

Finally!
After months of procrastination, I've install my #tinygs #lora #satellite antenna!
And already receiving those nice packages again!

I've tried a ground plane antenna at deck height for #TinyGS, but my station hasn't got any hits despite all the equipment checking out. With my metal roof, I don't get much of anything. Thinking about running up a Ed Fong dual band inside a PVC pipe that I can clamp to the deck, in guise of a flag pole (I rent). Is this a terrible idea?

@KG8LM I followed the instructions in #TinyGS wiki.
In a nutshell what I did was to order a supported board (LILYGO TTGO LoRa32 V2) from Aliexpress. Then I flashed the firmware, built the antenna and set it up. And forgot about it. It has been happily running since then.
The boring part is that there's currently only two birds (Norbi and FEES) flying. I'm not sure if they even support uplink.
The antenna of my TinyGS ground station is really poor and it still manages to catch LoRa packets from satellites. Mostly from Norby, but also some from FEES.
Today I finally got my TinyGS satellite ground station connected to Internet. However, my antenna is probably really really bad. That should be improved next.
But TinyGS is neat little project utilizing cheap ESP based LoRa boards for TRX for LoRa based experimental satellites.
