Mainly because they put up with my shit. 🤣 I have a tendency to skate on thin ice, so to speak, and they've let me know when I get too close to the edge.

Anyway...

I try and send 'em a little sumthin' sumthin' when I can, which isn't often enough. I wish I could do more, but I'm churchmouse poor.

I read all the instance and server brouhaha as it floats by, and I thank my lucky stars I ended up @ social.cologne, simply because it was closest to me physically.

I'm probably one of their bigger CPU/disk space/bandwidth hogs, and have caused moderation issues in the past, but they continue to put up with my shit, and have let me know when I've gotten too ripe.

I appreciate them, and try to slip 'em a few Euros when I can, which, unfortunately, isn't as often as I'd like.

I get that people migrate instances for various reasons. I am quite happy with social.cologne, and have no plans on migrating. After all, they put up with my shit, as well as my bandwidth hoggery.

And they do It for free!

I'm quite happy with my local server. When I look at the local feed, it looks like I'm one of their biggest bandwidth hogs 🐷, and they continue to put up with my nonsense, so kudos to them!

Remember, your server admins do their best behind the scenes (unpaid) to make sure your #Fediverse experience is as smooth, safe, and enjoyable as possible. Many are taking time out of jobs and/or from family whenever there is a glitch or update (or a glitch BECAUSE of an update)
