Stockton Rush claimed that regulations and steps like classing would get in the way of innovation and that his sub could not be tested except by _his_ company. So innovative!
Meanwhile we have manned submersibles that don't even count the #titanic depth as a dive for classing purposes because it is so shallow. #Titan

According to Stockton Rush's statements they planned to use an acoustic monitoring system for the carbon fiber hull. In the same video he states that the crackling of the hull did not stop after the first dive.
Does anyone know if a stop of crackling would be a warning sign or if they watched the crackling patterns or if this approach was dropped altogether, because it did not stop to crackle.
