I rushed to say #TokyoVice was a more watchable series than #ASpyAmongFriends based on watching part I of each. But the graphs gradually overlapped: the more you watch Tokyo, the more it becomes less; the more you watch A Spy the better it becomes.
The problem largely stems from Philby being too familiar. Having read so much over the years about him, even about Harry St. John Philby, his father, you feel another Philby documentary or drama will be dull. This builds slowly but isn't.

看起来是漂亮的——镜头配乐街景都很好，实际是失望的——日不日美不美的剧情，零零碎碎的故事线。
另外，演员们语言能力不错，日语英语自由切换。

282 followers · 11682 posts · Server m.cmx.im#TokyoVice 一来给我感触最深的是职场的压抑、对女性的压迫。近年来看日剧越来越多这种感受。等级森严、男尊女卑、随意辱骂员工、种族歧视，日本人甚至都有点债多不压身，全不以为耻了。
上班族在夜色中拎着菜回到家，要深吸一口气才能开门进去。可以想象，短暂告别了公司的压抑，又要面对家里的压力。这家的情况具体是怎样，没有描述，这是本剧高明的地方，点到为止。
叫干什么就干什么，没有（新闻）自由，其实会社与黑社会的运作也差不多。
老外的表演不如日本人自然，显得用力。但日本人也许本来就比较用力，也就不觉得了。
小明又出来打了个不光明的酱油。希望他以后还有戏份。伊藤步和山下智久还没看到。
（熟读松尾芭蕉的女招待？有点狗血了。但目前为止，尚可接受。。。

All my years of manga reading and anime viewing have paid off. I really enjoying watching this show and understanding some without subtitles.
Nice slow burn noir.
The newspaper-cop-yakuza relationships were fun to watch, as were the nightclub worker's story lines.
Will love to see what happens in the next season.
