It's become a Christmas family-favorite: a French-Canadian Tourtière. Using homemade pie crust, the filling is a combination of ground veal, lamb and bison with spices: cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, and cardamom.

Our family usually does something for #christmaseve dinner that is not overly fancy as much cooking will be done for #christmas breakfast and dinner. Past years have seen us at the local English pub, getting pizza from the expensive (but amazing joint, etc...

This year's Eve dinner was #tourtiere, a French-Canadian meat pie. We prefer it without the top crust, and with all pork. It was amazing.

I was too lazy to break out the camera gear and lighting, so a potato pic will have to do.
