One of my favorite books I read this year is Johanna Lykke Holm’s gently fantastic fable STREGA. The English translation by Saskia Vogel is a lyrical, entrancing masterpiece that completely swept me away. I reviewed it/unapologetically gushed about it for the Minneapolis Star Tribune. #bookreview #TranslatedBooks #Books

A Meal in Winter by Hubert Mingarelli (trans. Sam Taylor) is a kick in the gut. Three German soldiers explore the limits of their consciences while hunting for Jews in the Polish countryside. Highly recommended. #novella #TranslatedBooks #FrenchLiterature

Just finished reading: Grey Bees by Andrey Kurkov, translated by Boris Dralyuk. #NameTheTranslator
A war novel with a protagonist who would rather be in a cozy kind of narrative. With bees. I was concerned how this would work, and a big part of the plot is the protag's learning experience, which is usually a turnoff for me - but then it all clicked together.
Hoping to post more about it later (G-d willing)
