I once took a class from travel writer Pico Iyer, who said he always comes up with a quest whenever he travels. The quest is a surefire way to interact with people, seek out new places, and proceed with a sense of adventure. Also the quest doesn’t have to be anything big (his example was trying to find a Hello Kitty backpack for a friend’s daughter.)

In February I’ll be visiting Paris for the first time. What should my quest be?
