I believe it's the pit bull that has kept him going as a #TriPawd since a very young puppy. He does *not* give up. Ever.

He is the kindest, gentlest, most friendly dog to both humans & other dogs. He loves smaller dogs. Sometimes to the owners total surprise. No other dog likes my dog!

Try and dominate him? I know who my money is on

Ben is the absolute gentlest dog ever. Until you mess with him/try to play the Alpha game with him.

It's only happened once. I had to pay the vet bill for a 100lb Rottweiler because it crossed Ben's line. After plenty of warning from Ben.

That type of dog owner generally walks away in shame after their dog is trounced by a dog 30lb lighter. And a #TriPawd to boot! 🤣

On whim, I passed the phone to a friend and told him to just take lots of shots while we interact. Try to keep the interaction in the middle if you can. Then just hit that shutter button fast as phone will take it

This is actually a result of Koda trying to counter Ben's Signature Move

Other dogs could outrun Ben (but not easily despite him being a #TriPawd).

Ben's smart. Solution. Don't let them run away! He was phenomenally accurate in grabbing the collar/harness of the other dog and throwing them to the ground

The pit bull part (primarily visible in head/shoulders/jaw) made that easy

Advantage Ben. Usually Match.

When my father passed, i re-rescured Ben at the age of 6. He's now 14

I was going to toot something about Ben and his back story. I was doing something and came across this link

I had another link to a news article but it was possibly disturbing to some. But I really wanted to tell the story

Originally had a CW but I took it off. It's a delightful sequence detailing the early days of Ben's adoption by my father and how Ben was growing and adjusting

@Unixbigot Rosie (my older cat) cycles around the house finding secret sleeping spots. She sleeps there until the younger cat Forest finds it and starts sleeping there continuously. Then she's off to find the next secret place. There are at least 20. That I know of

But if he approaches her directly, she lets him know in no uncertain terms who's the boss

Cat dominance is very strange. It's almost dominance by sneak attack

Ooops! This is Ben. He's a 14 year old black lab/pit bull/husky mix who was abused as a very young puppy and has lived pretty much his entire life as a #TriPawd with a missing front leg.

And of course he's a good boy!
