#SeptembeRPG Day 1: A Great RPG first played this year

#Trophy #TrophyGold was my discovery this year. It sat there on my shelf, I read it at least two times (in its Codex format, and then the book).
I got the opportunity to play it, and it went great. I really enjoyed the gameplay, the way the fights are dealt with, the emergent lore that can be felt from anywhere (the character creation, the questions, the incursions...)

I found #Trophy to be wonderfully simplex to explain and play, although I’ve not tried with people who are new to RPGs.

Première expérience sur #Trophy #TrophyGold ce soir, et c'était plutôt convaincant.
L'aspect mécanique des règles arrive à se faire oublier par la narration, par les questions posées, et au final, cette mécanique rejaillit dans les moments importants pour apporter de l'histoire.

Ca donne envie de tester encore plus. #JDR

@Tim_Eagon @recluse i also found Cordova‘s Mystery System very innovative. It provides a fresh take on integrating investigative procedures in #ttrpgs. Something I learned from games such as #CthulhuDark, #Dread and #Trophy and Brindlewood is, that Horror-themed ttrpgs don‘t need long skill lists. They are on the contrary, a fossilized element of what people thought of as a thing that must be included in ttrpgs. 2/2
