It's quite hot and we were* bracing for #ElNiño but then the weird #weather brought us 🌀🌧️ storm #Amang. It didn't affect #MetroManila too badly, save for for some flooding in some areas. Temperatures got more bearable because of it.

My evening ride 🚴🏻‍♀️ was maybe 31°C at the start -- I was out an hour before sunset till an hour after sunset. Still pretty warm, but not so bad.

The recent Cyclone Freddy in the Indian Ocean was an exceptionally strong and long-lasting storm. Scientists are trying to determine whether climate change is making storms of this intensity more common.

' Freddy appears to have had an accumulated cyclone energy (the index used to measure the energy released by a tropical cyclone over its lifetime) equivalent to an average full North Atlantic hurricane season. '

A few weeks ago I went snorkelling on the agreat Barrier Reef. It was a 3 knot wind day, and the water was warm and flat. Coming back into the Marina that afternoon a storm was brewing over the mountains. My question is: How amazing is weather?

Tropical Weather: Another two possible systems after Iota

This is based on the Nullschool Earth weather visualiser, and is tentative, but looking out five days to November 18, there seem to be another two tropical systems forming. One NE of Hispaniola, the other north of Venezuela. Iota is also shown just north of Honduras.

These will be storms #31 & #32, Kappa and Lambda.
