Jenkyns has just joined the board of Net Zero Watch, a pressure group that denies climate science and lobbies for oil and gas interests. Perhaps more worrying is the furore following the report produced by the #TuftonStreet think tank Policy Exchange. It says that less than a quarter of the schools that responded to its FOI request (based on 154 out of England’s 24,000 schools) would tell parents if a child is questioning their #GenderIdentity. The claims that this disregards safeguarding principles are utterly wrong. If a child can't talk to a trusted adult at school, where can they turn?

Of the terrible decisions made by the #BBC recently, I find this perhaps the most worrying.

The BBC has an obligation to educate and inform. To cave into right-wing pressure like the billionaire-owned Telegraph who frame this as a 'political lobbying scandal' is deeply disturbing. Given the toxic influence of #TuftonStreet lobby groups, whose representatives are always on BBC shows & in the press, this is a sinister & REAL attack on free speech.
