I spun up my own personal instance, and this is pretty much the way I like it!
I'm not in to being the first person to follow everyone in the #fediverse (which seems to be common amongst the #TwitterDiaspora), nor do I want everyone to follow me - I just want to meet people with shared interests, and have occasional discussions with randoms.

@welshpixie I blocked them years ago, after one too many bad experiences.
After getting dogpiled for complaining about the blatant transphobia in one users replies to somneone on one of my Toots, I blocked the entire instance, and my feed has been much better for it.
I still saw their admin trying to claim that they were the wronged party in all this after several of the #TwitterDiaspora boosted or screencapped it, asking why we were being so mean to them.

I did a post on this last night - it may have gone through unlisted, because of the way Fedilab does things, but the basic gist was I reserve the right to not see posts from certain people, largely those coming over as part of the #Twitterdiaspora, who seem intent of doing things the way they did over there, and sowing discord over here.
I'm not saying they have to entirely take on every aspect of this places existing culture(s), just that I don't have to see it.

I would be interested in a breakdown of those figures, especially (currently) 57% in favour of NOT using CWs for political posts.
I have a feeling those would be almost exclusively the #TwitterDiaspora who have come over in the last 6 weeks or so who neither know nor care WHY certain things work certain ways here.
Most former Tweeters are great, but there is a very vocal minority who are intent on colonising this place and bringing over the toxicity they claim they are leaving.

@Ted The thing I'm finding interesting is that, across my various accounts, almost every block/silence/mute action I've taken over the past month or so has been those in the #TwitterDiaspora, who seem to think that recreating the toxic atmosphere there is fine over here.
The one exception was an entire instance many of us had on silence for years that the newcomers suddenly started boosting, and the admin took the opportunity to claim he was the victim, and it was all over my feeds - so, block!
