Speaking of pictures, Mastodon is focused on accessibility, please add #AltTags to your pictures and make sure to use #CamelCase (capitalising the start of words in hashtags, which helps screen readers)

If you want to find someone you can use the 🔍 but ensure you specify the instance: @name@instance.domain . We can all also use a hashtag like #TwitterMidwives although here, it's called a toot, so maybe we should be #MidwivesToot

A little bit I've learned about Mastodon for my #TwitterMidwives friends, in the short time I've been here:

Unlike 🐦, there isn't an algorithm that chooses what you see, and you only see people you follow.

People congregate on separate 'instances' which can be identified by the bit after the second @ (I'm @Zelle - so mine is @ Zelle @ Mastodonapp . UK (without spaces)
