Completed 3/18 days of #UCU #strike so far; conflicting emotions about this action, shared by colleagues. Been in the union for 30+yrs (AUT then UCU) & seen how Higher Education has been damaged by marketisation, but striking is not easy.

Reflecting on why I feel so rested after 2 days of strike action with #ucuRISING (perhaps for followers of @ucu)

Two days without rushing to back to back ms-teams meetings and out of office permission to ignore emails, has made a huge difference.

Plus buoyed up by the picket line conversations, inspirational speeches and the hope that we will halt and maybe even reverse the erosion of #HigherEducation.

Who knew that was all I needed to get a better night's sleep?
