I don't think #labour must reflect my values - as middle-class white liberal-minded person - because I accept I'm in a minority & as is all too painfully obvious this weekend the flag-shaggers include many potential #labour voters - without a fair chunk of them opposition awaits

That doesn't make then #ukip (which #toriesOut have in any case more or less fully absorbed - see #30pLee, #braverman )

#Ukip (remember them?) had 6 Councillors until today, a hold-over from their pre-Brexit days.

I've been in the Labour Party for almost eighteen years.

Out of my group of #socialist comrades, I was the one that wanted to work inside the Labour Party - arguing its a better vehicle for #socialism than yet another fringe party on the left.

But with the actions of the British establishment and their instrument #KeirStarmer, perhaps that isn't possible.

Maybe we need to do what #UKIP did to the #Tories, force Labour left by having a strong united socialist party eroding their voter base.

The people who voted for brexit & do not regret it are unlikely to be #labour voters whatever they do short of turning into #ukip minus the posh gits who ran it.....there is a majority without them

A great example of some quite blatant misreading of data is posted below.

This was in 2019. Rob Ford claimed that classic #Brexit voters and supporters - UKIP voters - wanting more #austerity

#UKIP voters, to a tiny extent disliked #austerity a bit less less than the rest.

Misreading data and quick analysis can lead to such wrong conclusions producing noise that benefited those behind #austerity and #Brexit project.

Numbers from polls might suggest #labourLandslide - but who beleives that will happen? There are many #shyTories - embarrassed by recent performance from admitting their allegiance, but still vote Tory in large numbers

#starmer has an issue with both #farLeft - upset by centrist talk & treatment of #corbyn - & #EUdiehards - disappointed he is not promising the impossible

What might give a big majority would be if #Farage recharged #Reform / #UKIP & siphoned off #nativist votes

Latest #ukOpinionPoll has #Conservatives at just 20%, the lowest they have been since #Sunak took over, with #Labour on 47% #reform (the #nativist right-wing successor to #ukip) uptick to 9% as despairing #littleEnglanders look for a new home
