A progress update on the Nanote P8, since folks seem to like it!

Turns out I don't have a removable SSD, but I can squeeze Win10 LTSC and Lubuntu on the 64GB internal drive. I'll use a 128GB SD card for files and games. As a nice bonus, the SD card is slightly recessed when installed - no snag risk!

I have LTSC installed, and all of my drivers installed. Need to tweak a few things but everything works! Waiting on Lubuntu to download now.

I have received the tiny Japanese netbook! Shipping was surprisingly fast, the netbook actually arrived before the replacement SSD (I'm going to dual boot Windows 10 LTSC and some flavor of Linux). Just running a quick driver backup first, since Nanote doesn't seem to make their drivers available for download.

That would be a cool use case for some #UMPC like the #OQO #Model02 were it not for the #cringe fact that "This is not how tapping into a network works!"...

It was sold without power cables and as "untested" which can mean anything.

I used a USB-C to 15V DC cable I have and found a plug in my massive DC jack adapter set.

Looks like it works! Even the HDD seems fine! Boots up Windows XP, connects to WiFi no problem.
