I have always admired #PresidentCarter since he became president in 1977. I met his daughter Amy when she and Abbie Hoffman came to #UMass in 1986 to protest CIA recruitment on campus. I met Jimmy when I was working in #Kurobe #Toyama 🇯🇵 in 1992 and he came to visit #YKK, a Japanese zipper manufacturer that had set up a factory in #Macon #Georgia when he was governor. I gave a brief speech as part of his welcome. I was so nervous and he was so kind. I wish I still had the photo taken of us.

Last night was one of first nights of the semester that I could finally close the window in my #umass dorm without suffering from overheating. From looking at the outside of the building 1/3 of students still have a fan in their open window. I wonder how much taxpayer money this excessive heating is costing in addition to its contribution to #climatechange

I am a long time UMass sports fan (and proud alum) and once wrote a blog dedicated to the UMass hockey team.

When not in the stands in Amherst or on the Pike driving to and fro I make my living as an analyst in the hospitality, retail, and restaurant space. In my spare time I enjoy hiking, craft beer, and vacationing with my family (where we typical hike National Parks and explore local craft breweries).
