I can confirm that a for 's 40B0 doesn't require a connection to the host.

I did it using , probably it would even work with . It also doesn't require a Lenovo machine, I ran the flash program on a self-built PC.

Are USB 3.0 USB C hubs (sans video) compatible with USB 2.0 USB C phones?

I want to thank Ratko and apologize for this angry toot. The fault was not due to the install process, but I sourced the wrong cable for this setup. It does matter to use a proper cable for this setup and not try to fake it with .

Lesson learned.
