I did do the digital last year, 2021. It did seem a bit better, emphasis on "a bit." (Got to check notes from my blog). Again, my consortium paid for it.
Heck, even the #USBookShow I did earlier this year seemed a lot better by comparison.

This panel reminds me of the kinds of books I loved as a kid. You know, maybe I should grab one or two of these as an adult. #USBookShow
Took break (some work does have to get done), but listening now to the Book Buzz Middle Grade Graphic Novels panel. #USBookShow
Willems hopes "unusual" stops being a pejorative and becomes a compliment. #USBookShow
Willems: What matters is what we have control over. He suggests drawing can help us get back in touch with empathy. Adults drawing with kids and sharing drawings can be powerful. #USBookShow #books
Willems: if we have learned anything in these two years is that making plans is a fool's errand.
Also, a story is a question we do not know the answer to.
Overall, today is a very heavy children/YA lit day at #USBookShow. That is not generally an area of interest to me, so I'll likely just listen in a bit less today. They did need to spread some topics over the three days better.
For children's books, often it is NOT social media where they find out about books. There is some in TikTok (BookTok), but often it is more word of mouth, then they may check social media. #USBookShow #books
Notice also that these authors speak on the role of reading in shaping them as writers. And yes, a lot of books they read come from libraries. #USBookShow #book
Jon Scieszka: there are so many ways to be an author. There is not ONE way to be an author. #USBookShow #books
Jon Scieszka describing his own work as "taking stuff from other people and messing it up" is a hoot.
I have reviewed current affairs books on my blog now and then, though not as many recently due to my self-imposed moratorium (after you know who got elected) on politics/social issues/activist material. But lately I am finding new small topics of interest. #USBookShow
Current Affairs needs to shed a bit that image it is a field you have to be an expert in order to read one of those books and/or that those books are dry. Ideally would be good to see these books more all over media, incl. places like TikTok #USBookShow #books
