Archbishop Broglio may not necessarily be as hard-line, hard-right as some Catholic media describe him. He has taken a personal interest in the plight of oppressed Nicaraguans, hosting a Mass last year at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in DC during which the exiled Auxiliary Bishop of Managua preached. Bishop Silvio Jose Baez counts Archbp Broglio as a friend of the oppressed.
