@rbreich Not to mention, interest rates afflict disproportionately those who rely on revolving credit. For example, a credit card debt incurred a year ago, sudden costs vastly more to repay. The borrower that was already having financial difficulty and relying on credit to eek on by. Now, they are paying more for necessities and their revolving debt. Removing that “extra” money in the system is plain cruelty. #USERY

@rbreich Fully agree. Yet, what is a way to nudge our Elected Leaders to make the ‘Public Good’ more important than ‘Consumer Protection’? The former being a systemic mechanism versus the latter being a reactive, specious form of manipulation? The odds feel to stacked on the monied interests side than the voting public.

My best example is #usery laws. No one even dares challenge them and yet our consumer credit cards run upwards of 21%+ interest rates.
