The #USFDA will allow retail pharmacies to offer #abortion pills in the United States for the first time.

Pharmacies can start applying for certification to distribute abortion pill mifepristone with one of the two companies that make it, and if successful they will be able to dispense it directly to patients upon receiving a prescription from a certified prescriber.

Until the official Government agency accounts like #NWS National Weather Service embrace the Mastodon platform, there will be growing pains.

They should be the first so real-time severe weather alerts can be made available outside of the blue bird, but #USFDA and #CDC are just as important.

Some local weather alert systems are literally built around the NWS network of accounts that exist on the blue bird.

The Reagan-Udall Foundation released their assessment of the #USFDA and the results are not great. They offered a scathing indictment of the agency’s structure and culture and recommended major restructuring, including possibly breaking up the agency so that oversight of the food system gets more attention.
