Our #UU church also does a celebration, but that time of evening is one where our kids don’t handle being out very well (during that witching hour/frap period) so we’ve always just celebrated at home. @EngagedPureLand @shaktinah I agree with you about Star Trek and its utopian possibilities. And I will also point out that we had a member at our #UU congregation give a marvelous sermon a while back about the Force and the Jedi and the spirituality of Star Wars.

The biggest wake up for me was seeing how leftist spaces absolutely struggle with things like bullying, harassment, doxxing, badjacketing, etc. - their rhetoric was empty. Even the #UU community has the same problem.

The lack of honesty takes space away from openness and vulnerability, which keeps our defenses up, and we end up perpetuating trauma without even realizing it.

By pure coincidence I’ve made connections with a number of other #UnitarianUniversalist folx (or #UU as we tend to call ourselves😀) here on the Fediverse. Figured I’d put out a call to see how many of us are out here so that I can be more deliberate about following/connecting with more of you!
