Every anti-vaxxer should be a clean air advocate. Saw the argument that "the Black Plague disappeared without a vaccine". This is misleading as it is still in existence, it just doesn't spread like it did because we figured out how it spreads, and then made the proper changes.

We know how #COVID spreads, #COVIDisAirborne, so if we clean the air via #HEPA and #UVC, and #WearAMask, we stop spreading it –and that means those who don't want to get vaccinated will be more protected.

Today we started the first Germicidal UV-C training and NALMCO certification program at UMD SPH. Attendees will be for able to sit for the management consultant and/or senior technician UV-C certification examination on the third optional day of the course. #UVC #airborne #COVID

This is the first step in creating the workforce to make all high risk public spaces safer even during a pandemic.

Also: UVC is used to keep fishtanks clean - it kills algae and other bacteria. But it can also kill all fish.

I noticed something in all of my friend's Billy Joel posts and just confirmed it. SoFi Stadium has Far-UVC lighting installed to sanitize the air. I'd probably have gone if this was being advertised. Of course, I'd still be in a mask if I did, but I would definitely feel far-safer there. Perhaps I'll catch a Rams game this year.

Found a really nice #opamp to design my #UVC detector for my #bespoke #FPLC project. It has really low input bias current and offset #voltage. It's a bit slow with a slew rate of about 0.35v/us (would take about 14 #microseconds to rise from 0 to 5v) but, for my needs, this is perfect. Also found a better #UVC detector that has high sensitivity around 280nm. Time to draft a #transimpedence amplifier #circuit #PCB!

Made a simple #breakout #PCB for the #UVC #led I found on Amazon, with ample room to add #filtering #circuitry and #current limiters later. The part is way too small to hand solder without experience so a cheap #PCBWay breakout is in order. Arriving Monday. Gotta love a quiet evening #tinkering :)

Fused silica tubing for UV detector of my crappy bespoke FPLC. Gonna wait for silicone to set, add another coat to reinforce the connection, and then 3D print a holder for the UVC sensor and 280nm LED. Gonna make a constant current driver later...
