Covid and similarly contagious harmful pathogens are public health issues.

The bare minimum---MIN-IM-UM---should be:

*Mandatory isolation periods (10 days, tbh)
*Mandatory masks in healthcare settings *Schools and workplaces who insist on in-person attendance should monitor #IAQ and use windows, HVAC, air purifiers, upper-room #UVGI---WHATEVER, to ensure a sanitary breathing environment

This is not unreasonable. This SHOULD be "the New Normal".

For the umpteenth time: of course we "can't stay in lockdown forever".

We should have USED the time we bought through lockdowns/traffic light/mask mandates to improve #IAQ in hospitals, schools, public transport and other high-risk essential service areas, via ventilation, air filtration and if possible upper-room #UVGI.

No sensible person wants to "go back". We should be going forward. It's 2023, we should have decent #NPIs in place.

Germicidal UV has been around for decades, gaining popularity as a measure against the spread of tuberculosis.

Imagine if qualified engineers worked en masse to install upper room #UVGI in hospitals, classrooms, gyms with ceilings 2.5m or higher.

The initial effort and cost is worth the ongoing suppression of airborne respiratory pathogens. Not just COVID! Colds, flu, measles. So many ills, eliminated through the beauty of engineering.
