Fueled by the excitement that I may finally be "free" to explore and employ any academic concepts and methods to my work, I'm following a trail sparked by the inaugural lecture of #STS scholar Sarah Davies at #UniVienna. Over the pandemic, their group self-organized an autoethnographic study on "mundane" academic practices during lockdown.

Learned about #nanopore sequencing in today's Theoretical Bio dept seminar #UniVienna. Two case studies were presented (DNA #barcoding of wild leapords and wet market spiders). The ONT MinION looks soooo damn sleek!

In front of the #GÖD, which will start a new round of collective agreement salary negotiations today, the #Unterbau demands a salary settlement that covers #inflation. Today is also about #109UG, which came into effect & limits short-term uni contracts to 8yrs per institution per life. #IchbinHanna

What a day!

After the dept meeting this morning at #UniVienna, a fellow mini-symposium at #KLIAustria, I'm now at the #WissensRaum of Verein #ScienceCenterNetzwerk to strategize the future of the international Vienna #SciComm club!

Wow. That was an incredible introduction to Brenneis's work on sea spiders. #UniVienna is VERY lucky to have him.

Day starting out great with a spontaneous walk-in flu shot five minutes before this talk by Georg Brenneis, postdoc at #UniVienna #DeptEvoBio. Abstracts should all look like this.
