Congratulations to the Ultium #UAW Lordstown #union for winning a 25% pay raise for their workers.

For context: GM converted their EV plant in Lordstown into an “Ultium” plant under their joint venture with LG, partly so they didn’t have to pay workers there the same rates as the rest of GM. Workers at the Ultium plant started at $16/hr, going up to $20/hr after SEVEN YEARS of work. GM workers would have earned $32/hr at that same plant.

The workers at Lordstown still have a long way to go to earn wage parity with their GM counterparts, but I’m happy to see any victory. #unionStrong #unionize #solidarity

What is #AuditionPay, you ask? Aren't auditions just opportunities or job interviews?

Here's what our current union contract says:

"If the performer is given employment in the picture, he shall not be entitled to compensation for auditions or tests... if the performer is not given employment in the picture, the performer shall receive 1/2 day of pay."

If we were paid to audition as we should be, there would be middle-class actors.
