If you are thinking that you will probably need to migrate to #GoogleAnalytics version 4 (aka #GA4) this year then you should set up a new tracking code for it *now*.

It's relatively easy to do and then you can have a few months of seeing data from version 3 (aka #UniversalAnalytics alongside) #GA4.

Once the tracking code is set up, don't forget to test it to make sure that it is working properly and logging data.

Thoughts on #GA4 after finishing a one-day training course yesterday:

1. Some things that used to be easy in #UniversalAnalytics are now more difficult out just not possible RIP (‘Content drilldown’)

2. Some things that used to be very complex are now more straightforward (and often much more powerful)

3. For my quarterly website reports, I’m going to have to stop making year-on-year comparisons until I’m only comparing #GA4 data with #GA4
