Now I’ve been around for a month, I think I should expand on my #introduction a bit.
Seems I toot a lot about #smallholding and very little about #LivedExperience (specifically #PPIE and #CoCreation in research). On reflection, it’s because I am still a bit burned by bird place, but I’m very much interested in hanging out in those spaces.
My #UnpaidCarer life is complicated but essential and it’s part of who I am, not something I ‘do’. Social media lets me socialise when real life doesn’t!

The fun life of an #UnpaidCarer last night Hub had a really bad night.
Pain caused him to be restless, have nightmares and in one dramatic moment fall out of bed breaking the dresser.
I had to get him back in bed ( I have both rotator cuffs torn) which meant lifting him while his pills kept him sedated.

I have not slept. It just took me over 30mins to take a shower because my arms hurt so much washing my hair is agony.
This is the reality that is worth £69 a week to the Tory Government.

I am an #UnpaidCarer I have now been diagnosed with 2 torn rotator cuffs. This means I am in constant uninterrupted pain. I have severely limited range of motion in my arms. There's no quick fix and I have to carry on regardless.
We don't get sick leave, there is no back up and frankly I'm crying way more than in the previous 22 years of this role.
My physio can't see me again until January.
But it's ok, because I have a support line , which offers no actual help 🤷🏻‍♀️

As well as posting about my own disabilities and health issues (as well as other stuff) I also post about what it is like to be an #UnpaidCarer. My Mum and I are both disabled and we live and care for each other.

I would love to connect with other #carers , (as well as many other people).
