This is reproduced behaviour with DX12 since unreal engine 5.0 - We have to make a payed account at UDN to get this issue addressed I guess... This is caused by Niagara and is connected to a bug in Raytracing / only with DX12 - reproduced on many different systems with RTX graphic cards. 😢

What do you think of this new slide mechanic I made today?
I think the only thing left to do is to add some drag so that the character can't slide endlessly and then balance the knockback/damage amounts.

Jump Flood Algorithm ported to Niagara to create outlines using the custom stencil buffer and a cheap edge detection algorithm. Still a bit rough but it's working!
I'll be working on a breakdown video soonâ„¢. I'm a bit intimated by the subject yet, the algorithm isn't that complex but the devil lies in the details. I'll do my best though :shrug:

Corridor is a tech-demo / test project of sorts for learning Unreal Engine's new material system, Substrate as well as using many of the latest features on UE5-Main & 5.3 branch.
This is designed for high end systems only and is fairly heavy due to the ultra high poly nature of the environment and high density textures as well as lots of Lumen use.

Spent the weekend animating for the first time in #unrealengine outside of basic camera movements and what a powerful tool. It’s not perfect but it’s wild you can create something that looks good quickly. Also very fun!

Somebody knows a good method for car skidmarks?
I checked various tutorials, but or they have the same problem or are bad perfomant like this one:

That black line is thousands to sprites placed on the ground... the overdraw is horrible, let alone the particle count.
Any idea?
