Loved Slow Shotwell! But it left me with many questions.

Why is MTA doing different treatments on each slow street? The Richmond's slow streets have the bare minimum, while Shotwell has 2 sets of full diverters, speed humps, no cut through traffic signs and clear cross street signage.

Driver, who was going 45/50mph, almost hit the cyclist in front of me at Kezar Dr and GGP's entrance. The driver had no plans on stopping. I told them to slow down after the fact.

AB 645 / automated speed enforcement was put in the suspense file on Monday (again) and will be heard on Friday, 9/1. The path it could take on 9/1 would be: taken off the suspense file and put on the Senate floor to be heard, added as a two year bill and heard as the same AB645 during next year's legislative session or placed back in the suspense file to be killed. Chair Portantino made positive comments about it on Monday. (I'm not endorsing this bill; just providing an update. I've come almost full circle against ASE fwiw)

An SF SUV driver who parked in the Cabrillo BL told me he's allowed to park in the BL bc he lives there and that he's a cyclist. He told me he rides a "real bike".

I was carrying my large analog bike on my cargo bike at the time.

I told him my kids bike in this BL, laughed and rode away.

*You would think* that a city that prides itself over quaint neighborhoods would try to calm traffic beyond lowering the speed limit.

I'm talking removing traffic lanes and parking to add greenery, transit lanes and daylighting. Think a village feel.

There seems to be a major disconnect bt SF supervisors, merchant associations and its residents.
