#tourdefrance, #urbex, #rail and #history combined: I saw the peloton passing an odd bridge. Turns out to be the Pont Victor-Emmanuel, built in 1855-55, abandoned for rail use since 1876, then becoming a road bridge until the late 1900's, now completely closed off.

It is the oldest metal bridge of France that's still standing.

These four images came from a burned out warehouse that once existed in #SEPortland, OR. Now demolished and with a new building on site, it had sat vacant for many years during “the naughty” years. I would visit regularly to see what changed. Unfortunately my #urbex locations tend to disappear, so these become a moment in the timeline.

I once had a therapist I didn't like who was trying to give me unwanted career advice. she asked me what my favorite hobbies were and one of the things I mentioned was #urbex photography and explained what that is. she insisted I should try to monetize that in some way as a career and was confused when I laughed and didn't seem interested . like, Nora you are trying to suggest I become a professional trespasser . do you know thats illegal, to do trespassing, as is my hobby. I would love to be a professional trespasser but what the fuck kind of career advice is that. I genuinely don't think she realized that its illegal to trespass on properties even if they are abandoned

This was a hotel just outside of Sete Cidades in São Miguel, Açores. My understanding is it was plagued by moisture issues and almost non-existent tourism when it first opened; it operated for only a very brief period of time.

If you do happen upon this place, be warned - the floors are slick and there are open shafts throughout the building.
