I drive a #truck, and I'm aware of her environmental footprint, so I drive her carefully.
I want to minimise her impact on the environment, on a good day, I can get 25mpg.
Why am I telling you this?
On the radio today, I heard a man complaining about #VED being applied to #EectricCars he said "Charging it is expensive, and now they're putting #RoadTax on it, so what's the point of owning one?"
Immediately, I thought, "It's quiet, and doesn't burn #FossilFuel "
Why did he buy one?

#ElectricVehicles #BEV to pay Vehicle Excise Duty #VED from 2025. I support this change as we are well past the tipping point for adoption of the technology.

The change that needs to happen though is a reduction in car ownership with increased car sharing, better public transport and proper #cycle infrastructure.

We currently have 30+ million cars that sit idle nearly 95% of the time, a very inefficient use of resources whatever the power train.
