"No dynamic attachment / detachment of USB devices is permitted; they must be
hardwired to the VMB5000 across a PCB or via an external transceiver"
"The VMB5000 supports external hubs and can cope with EOPs that are 1, 2 or 3 bit times wide. It does
not include protection against the effect known as “dribble” that can occur if several hubs and cable-runs are
used to connect a device."

#ECA16 以外にも、イー・モバイル向け #HSDPA モデムの #D01NX , #docomo 向けHSDPAモデムの #M2501 が #Elan #VMB5000 を搭載していたようだが、他にはどれだけ同USBコントローラーチップを搭載したモデムカード・アダプタがあったのやら
