To those of you who enjoy : What advantages do you think the format has over written ?

I ask this because video essays seemed to rise in prominence as a means to better analyze and discuss visual media, but in recent years the format seems to have grown to encompass everything from political commentary to the history of Furby dolls.

I wonder why someone chooses to start a Youtube channel instead of a Substack. What draws people to the format?

You know, the thing about , , is that I'm always reminded how little I know about the world. There are so many things, concepts, cultures, that exist and how much of it I know nothing about.

Some of it, I don't care about - you know, TV shows, Movies - but there's so much in the world in regards to lived experience and jobs and hobbies that I don't know well.

There's a lot of stuff really.
