🇭🇷🚂🚃🚃 Finally, one of the last EC159 "Croatia's" direct trips from #Vienna🇦🇹 with @unsereOEBB🇦🇹 rolling stock arrived in #Zagreb🇭🇷 with +46min. Many bikes got unloaded. What a wonderful arrival at an amazing railway station: Zagreb glavni kolodvor 🤩🥰!

🇦🇹🤝🇸🇮 Border station #SpielfeldStraß is spectacular, especially when EC150 "Emona" arrives from #Ljubljana🇸🇮 & EC159 "Croatia" from #Vienna🇦🇹 and a loco change has to happen 😍! A SŽ class 342 "Tsar" or "Moped" in exchange for ÖBB class 1016 "Taurus" 😊!

🇦🇹🚂🚃🚃🇭🇷 Good bye EC 158/159 "Croatia". For the time being, this is the 3rd to last direct #Eurocity-service between the Austrian🇦🇹 capital #Vienna & the Croatian🇭🇷 capital #Zagreb. The #ÖBB🇦🇹 class 1016 030 "Mausbär" is working the train. Cheers🍻 everyone, you'll find me at the wonderful fully-fledged ÖBB #diningcar 😍!

One of the highlights of a trip on board #EuroCity train #Emona, next to the wonderful scenery, is the @diningcar of the Slovenian Railways, running between #Vienna 🇦🇹 and #Ljubljana 🇸🇮, serving meals cooked on board and freshly brewed coffee, in a very nice setting. ☕️🥐🍳

🇦🇹🚄🥧 The rather remote #Railjet morning service №74 from #Graz🇦🇹 to #Vienna🇦🇹 & #Brno🇨🇿 is a wonderful way to enjoy the scenic #UNESCO WHS "Semmering🏔 Railway" while having an Austrian signature dish:

A classical "Apfelstrudel" at the #ÖBB🇦🇹 #diningcar 😍!

Among the European railway classics: #EuroCity 151 #Emona from #Vienna 🇦🇹 to #Ljubljana 🇸🇮 and #Trieste 🇮🇹. This train includes Austrian and Slovenian cars and runs over the #Unesco world heritage #Semmering route.

A very 1970s design: #Vienna 🇦🇹 #U1 #Südtirolerplatz station hallway. This section of the line opened in 1978.

🇩🇪🚄 "Bitte ein Bit!" - Asia style wok-noodles🍜 as well as pork medallions in pepper cream sauce with mashed sweet potatoes together with a decent freshly tapped German lager🍺 that's why I love the #DB🇩🇪 #diningcar. Very nice service and delicious meals on ICE91 "Donauwalzer" from #Bonn🇩🇪 to #Vienna🇦🇹 👌!

Traveling from #Brussels to #Vienna via #rail :

* Yesterday's sleeper train NightJet was cancelled due to #extremeweather in Austria.
* Today we are in Deutsche Bahn misery, with the ICE 17 from Brussels to Frankfurt cancelled and replace by three (!) local trains.

Conclusion: summer is now hurricane season in Europe, and overland traveling has become unreliable. Perversely, air travel is almost unaffected. #ClimateCrisis

#Ottakring is my favourite #Vienna 🇦🇹 neighbourhood (it’s where I live when in Vienna) ❤️💪 - and it’s also the station name for the western terminus of the city’s #U3 subway line. 🇦🇹🥐☕️ This was a wonderful brunch at RJ860's @unsereOEBB🇦🇹 #diningcar. We went from #Vienna🇦🇹 to #Vöcklabruck while enjoying a delicious "Emperor's breakfast" and sweet curd cheese dumplings with buttered breadcrumbs & stewed apricots 🤩😋!
