While the Amarna Royal Family settle into their new frame, I've got the View Of The Excavation mounted.
These two are still unsigned, but after an afternoon with the staple gun, I'm in no mood for stitching!
Inching ever closer to being able to plan that exhibition!

I decided that the work in p progress was so crumpled, I couldn't see what was what, so I washed it and hung it up to dry while I went for a walk.
Looks really happy, right?
When I came back, it was raining. Sigh.

Cable Plait Stitch for the hat, Hungarian Braided Chain Stitch for the rest, and in a much closer tone to the workman in front.
That's better. Just highlights and shadows to finish..

Working on the highlights on the #ViewOfTheExcavation. I'm not sure how much to put in, so I'm erring on the side of excess. I can always take it out, but if I don't put enough in, it may not be easy to decide what more is needed...

It's only just occurred to me how subtle are the difficulties of this random #SeedStitch. It has to look random, but humans are good at spotting patterns, we make patterns almost by accident. And on top of that, as I am often reminded - random processes clump, so something truly random might have patterns in it anyway!

There is a lot of this in my future. The #ViewOfTheExcavation needs more texture and more emphasis so as to hold up one end of the conversation with the #MapOfAmarna . Balancing the surface pattern with the picture is going to be tricky, I think.
