Allegedly, the moment his camera flashes, the person—or, in some instances, people—he photographs vanish, leaving only their shadows behind. Witnesses to this chilling phenomenon claim they can hear screams originating from his camera as he hastily departs the scene. It's widely speculated that he somehow ensnares the souls of his subjects, transporting them back to his shadowy darkroom for purposes that remain unknown.

How's my fledgling #VoiceActing career going? Well I just recorded a few minutes of my best (terrible) impression of a certain green frog puppet doing very uncharacteristic things for a podcast.

This is not where I expected to end up, but I can't say I'm disappointed.

I’m incredibly proud of ALL my work for NoSleep, but sometimes a story comes along that’s a little bit extra special.

It’s always an honour to be invited to be in a Season Finale. This one was recorded mostly in studio in LA, but I did my lines remotely.

If you know the Haunting Of… series, you’ll recognise a few of the names. I’m a little stunned to see my own on this gorgeous artwork joining them and so many talented actors.

The Wakeless are a sinister race of beings originating from a realm within the Great Unconscious known as the Harrows. They infiltrate our world through dreams, haunting humans with the most terrifying of nightmares. Gradually, they manage to possess the slumbering bodies of their targets, gaining the ability to traverse the Earth and manipulate reality in the same way as they would a dream. Other Wakeless entities can impregnate women during their dreams, leading these women to ultimately give birth to living nightmares called Marelings. The city of New Victoria, formerly known as Old Boston, has become the terrestrial stronghold of the Wakeless and the Marelings, and currently remains isolated from the rest of the world.

Recording the podcast/audiobook version of my #webnovel really makes me think about AI voices… I notice how I pronounce the same words differently depending on who is saying it and what their emotional state is and whether it is their internal monologue or in dialogue and how well they know the person they are talking to… and whether or not that is something that I pull off well or not I really don’t think that AI could ever do any of that. Sure you can make a voice say whatever you want it to say… but can you make it feel whatever you want it to feel?

Good acting and VA (and I’m not going to say I am a brilliant voice actor or anything. I just do it for fun on the internet) isn’t just saying the words. It isn’t just creating a character that is saying words. It is creating words that sound like somebody meant something when they said them, beyond the literal meaning of the words.
