Whilst I understand the rationale for digital voting, I am ⭐VEHEMENTLY ⭐ against it because .
1. Since the closed source voting machines in the US have been implemented, the statistical scrutineering methods developed for revealing vote manipulation shows vote rigging via machine happens (strangely enough, favouring conservatives)
2. Many of the voting machines and backend voting infrastructure are TRIVIALLY compromisable.
3. While you can make open source, reviewable software, the pool of scrutineers is far smaller (and therefore more compromisable)
4. Pencil, paper and eyeballs from all parties are most effective at ensuring quality elections (at least in Australia)
5. Finally, and most importantly, the influence on voters you allude to, occurs in the Oligarch mass media. There is next to ZERO evidence election corruption occurs at the ballot.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
