I guess now's as good a time as any to note that "vox populi, vox Dei" apparently entered English as a warning from the 8th c. scholar Alcuin of York that the "tumult of the crowd is always very close to madness" so one should ignore those who say that the voice of the people is the voice of God.

It is all incredible but of course it is not all gentle nostalgia. The #Archive records #NorthernIreland as it descends into economic and political chaos. In time the #UTV archive will include the 70s, 80s & 90s and it can be fairly grim.
However, we can't hide that. We must confront it and learn from it.
