So bizarrely, Mas.to works just fine while I'm connected to my Virgin Media WiFi, but not while I'm using #VodafoneUK – for clarification, I'm a #Voxi customer. Anyone else on #Vodafone having the same issue?

Okay, I finished making a work-around to make #Voxi #Vodaphone user-friendly.

I set up #OpenDNS to use instead of the Vodaphone default DNS. This is a bit more private and faster. I also set up #ProtonVPN - this is more private, fast - not noticably slower than no vpn, and it disconnects me from Vodaphone sinister, random site-blocking / censorship.

Will see how it goes but if I have any other reason to distrust Voxi then I'll move on and try another service with higher ethical standards.

I did bit of checking & it turns out Vodaphone DO censor internet access of their users & have done since at least 2011:

I installed #Protonvpn & can now access this site using Voxi data. I just have to remember to switch back to #Blokada when I need to block ads.

So, I have a workaround. But ZERO trust in Voxi/Vodaphone.

I just started using a new #Voxi sim. It is run by #Vodaphone #UK. I distrust Vodaphone but its a 1 month contract, mainly just for tablet data, so I decided to try it.

Tried to log in to here and got a blank screen with an 'unsafe! someone trying to steal your data! go back!' message.

Applied to join #mastodon.social.

Then had an idea and tried GiffGaff sim. Hey presto! No alerts, no problems.

Do Vodaphone block access to Mastodon?
