Have a lovely Sunday everyone. I hope you all stay warm and dry. It's pretty miserably outside today, so we're staying indoors.
This was taken a few years ago, but could be today, from the look of it.
Look for the light, there is always some if you look hard enough.

One day we found this beach. We walked & walked & walked for hours. The beach never ends. Way off in the distance, that little point on the Crescent? That's the start of another beach like this, & each has trails that run next to the beach, worth hiking.

We've been trying to get back for a few years now, to finish that shore. We've explored almost all the rest.
is all coastline & 1 or 200 ..

Passing through the seaside town of Digby , I spotted this ornate tide clock.

A tide clock is designed to keep track of the moon's motion around the earth.

Digby has a large scallop fishing fleet, and its scallops are renowned worldwide

Since 2004, Digby has played host to the Wharf Rat Rally, the largest motorcycle rally in Atlantic Canada, when the population of the town swells from 2,000 to 50,000 people!! fineartamerica.com/featured/di

Winter has been kind to Mahone Bay. Located on the south shore of the town is famous for its iconic three churches, its sailing community and its natural beauty.

The three churches, or Church Row as it is also known, have been featured on calendars and captured in art for years. Each church is beautiful in its own way. fineartamerica.com/featured/wi

The Lost to the Sea memorial is located in Yarmouth Nova on Canada's east coast. Erected in 2013, the memorial bears the names of 2500 mariners who have already gone down to the sea over the centuries with space for more names, if sadly needed.

The centerpiece of the memorial is the bronze ship's wheel and there is also a water feature present. A sobering reminder of lives lost.... fineartamerica.com/featured/lo

Fort Anne is in Annapolis Royal and was built by the Scottish in 1629. This the South Powder Magazine.

Built in 1708 to replace the previous magazine storage known as the Black Hole, the rubble stone walls & vaulted roof were constructed to make the magazine bomb-proof. Ventilation corridors meant the gunpowder remained dry. In case of an explosion, the roof is designed to blow outwards fineartamerica.com/featured/so

Can you see it? In the distance is the lighthouse of Belliveau Cove, and on this foggy day, it is barely visible. You can certainly understand the importance of these navigational aids in weather like this.

It is low tide and the fishing boats are at anchor, waiting for the tides of St. Mary's Bay to rush back in, so they can return to the sea fineartamerica.com/featured/we

"I’m pretty sure my birthstone is a sea shell.”

Good morning. It took about 3 years to visit all the Nova Scotia beaches we could find, I know we missed one or two dozen....

Some are obvious, like this one.

I am pretty sure this boat's days of fishing on the waters of the north Atlantic are over!

Slowly disintegrating as it weathers on the rocks of the picturesque village of Peggy's Cove Nova Scotia, the boat, named Freedom 55 is perched in front of the fishing shacks with its bow pointed at the boats bobbing gently in the calm water of the protected harbor fineartamerica.com/featured/no

- I love this view of the Bay of Fundy. Visible from the French Cross landmark park in Morden Nova Scotia, the steep cliffs are clearly visible in the distance, as the waves crash on the shore beyond the fence.

The cliffs you see are the edge of the North Mountain Range....towering cliffs of a volcanic ridge of basalt created over 200 million years ago. and resemble the same type of rock found in Hawaii. fineartamerica.com/featured/fu

The historic Balmoral Grist Mill in was built in 1874 & is still in operation today.

There was the old mill before me, with the calm headwaters of Matheson's Brook to its left. The mill has not changed since it opened in the 19th century.

I love exploring these old mills...a look back at our history fineartamerica.com/featured/ba

Lunenburg may be a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it may be a historic fishing village, but it is also filled with color, life, and people!!
