"Game you'd like a new edition of?"

In around 20 years, I've been in the hobby, I saw three (and a half) editions of #DnD, two editions of #Pathfinder, and three editions of #WFRP. Apparently, there's also a new edition of #TrailofCthulhu coming out. And while I'm cautiously interested in it, I don't really need new editions of games I already own or play. I prefer new games tackling genres I enjoy in novel and fun ways.

26) Favourite CHARACTER SHEET

As a GM most of the time, I mostly have requirements.

+ all needed character information ideally on one page
+ the important information should be available at a glance
+ personally, I prefer self-developed character sheets, often created with more love than commercial ones
+ I also like "folio sheets" of the #RQG / #Runequest and #WFRP 4 #startersets

Heute geht's weiter mit Warhammer Fantasy und unserer "Enemy Within" Kampagne. Unter der hervorragenden Leitung von @Nethermaven und in Begleitung der zauberhaften @terraminima und @the_pulp_hero, haben wir endlich Altdorf erreicht.

Mein Hexenjäger, Reikhardt von Eisen, hat erstaunlich viele Doppelgänger in letzter Zeit. Mal sehen was es damit auf sich hat und ob noch mehr von der Sorte auftauchen. Wird Zeit das ich da in Altdorf mal Feuer mache! *Muhahaha*

I think today many people can no longer understand why especially the first two adventures of this campaign were so great! Many expected something similar to #DnD, i.e. slaughtering and robbing monsters in or around #dungeons, but they were served something that felt more like a #Cthulhu adventure in a "hilarious #darkfantasy" guise.

I'm often not a fan of modern #startersets, but I really like the boxes for #WFRP and the one for #Splittermond - for different reasons. I now have the #WFRP Box twice (de/en).
The #WFRP offers a cornucopia of adventure ideas and background material. #Splittermond goes more in the direction of #RedBox #DnD, so a more complete insight into the game system. Although I have little to do with Splittermond per se, I would still clearly recommend this box to beginners.

Have to say #WFRP , it's the system I played the most and the longest in almost all variations.

#RPGaDay2023 Day 13: Most memorable character demise.

That would have to be my #WFRP dwarf from back in the ‘80s. Narak Nurtha. He wasn’t a pleasant chap but rose from beggar to Baron in his adventuring career. Earlier in his career he’d lost a hand to a trap. He was offered the chance of having one grafted on from a captured dwarf (did I mention Narak was evil?). The downside? The grafted on hand had a mind of its own and throttled Narak 😂

Day 13 at #RPGaDay2023: Most memorable character demise

Never died in #ttrpg I gm'ed the #ADnD2E campaigns and as a player the Fate Point system in #WFRP saved me quite often.

So, my most memorable character demise was a #larp SC. In a battle I suddenly stood face to face with a lich and considered myself a goner. But he only cursed me with blindness + I had to wander blind across the field. And so I died, 'cos another player thought, I must be a zombie (outstretched arms) and beheaded me

#WFRP 3rd. We scouted the sewers for signs of skaven. We pushed too far, too hard. We got an entire horde of skaven rat ogres chasing us. I fought one after another. We could see the numbers would overwhelm us, so I pushed my party members through a door, blocked it with my body, and refused to move. Died holding back the horde, while the party alerted the town.

Lots of fun deaths in #DCC as well, but this one was special.
