Jesus worked as a carpenter during His time here before He was called into ministry. He taught the Apostles many things in the form of parables, along with teachings on seeds.

The Lord wasn't a farmer, so why is this so important to Him and what is He really wanting to show us about a tiny seed?

Beyond the outer shell, the innermost part of a seed holds the important things, like the DNA strands or genetics of what will later sprout.

Luke 8:11 states the seed is the word of God, meaning God's DNA is in His Word. Jesus wants us to intake His word past the shell into a deeper level (Jn 16:25), so His seed can be planted into our beings (Gen 2:7). 🌱

Access Being the Veil

Have you ever heard the phrase "access behind the veil"? It may be understood in different ways but what does this mean biblically?

To break things down, a veil is a type of curtain or covering that hides whatever is behind it. When lifted, we're able to see what was once concealed and learn about what was underneath.

God says His Word is also veiled (2 Cor 4:3). To fully understand God, we must gain access behind this covering to learn what God is saying on a deeper level.

As believers, discovering there is a curtain over scripture is big news that we're excited to search out!

It’s easy to focus on what is going wrong in our lives: the disappointments and regrets, family or financial issues; the chaos and disorder we see running rampant in the world today can lead to a lot of negative thinking. However, God doesn’t want us to focus on circumstances.

When God brought the Hebrews out of slavery in Egypt they praised Him (Exodus 15:2). Despite providing everything for them in the wilderness (Deut 29:5), they ended up murmuring and complaining, no longer expressing gratitude that God had led them out of oppression and slavery (ref. Exodus 16).

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

How do we feel the presence of Jesus?

How is it that the vast majority of people in His time could not see who He was?

Matt 16:17 Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.

Jesus reveals how to know Him, which is by a revelation of the Father.

In Hebrew thought, having eyes to see is not speaking about literal vision but it means to have an understanding of the Word of God. In order to fully understand and implement a lifestyle of Christianity, we need His word to reveal who He is to us. We are in the time and season for the Word to be revealed! It's time to recognize and see Jesus in YOU!

The Spirit of Prophecy

The Church needs the Spirit of prophecy. In the Book of Revelation it says: the mystery of God would be finished, as declared by His servants the prophets(Rev 10:7). The scriptures also talk about false prophets that will come (Mat 24:24); so, how do we know the difference?

The word “prophet,” according to ancient Hebrew, speaks of the “knowledge of something that is not known by the five senses,” or the “seed inside,” like a “fruit hides the seeds inside it.”

A true prophet receives revelation (deeper knowledge) of the Word, revealing the mystery of our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Co 13:2, Rev 1:1).

The Voice of Healing just launched School of the Spirit where you can actually learn how to see Scripture prophetically.

Exo 13:3 And Moses said to the people: "Remember this day in which you went out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out of this place. No leavened bread shall be eaten.

When we get further along in our walk and devotion to God, we tend to forget the wonderful miracles He performed in our lives. This happens when we allow the cares of the world to infiltrate our mind distracting us from Jesus. This command that Moses spoke was not a word for the Hebrews only at that time.

The Word who is Jesus is eternal, meaning He did not just appear 2000 years ago, Jesus has always been. When you learn to understand the Word because you are being guided by a Moses figure in your life then you are coming out of Egypt.

Why does the Lord speak in Parables?

A parable is an earthly story with a heavenly meaning; something that we understand - such as food being nourishment to our physical bodies is a parable to the Word of God being nourishment to our inner being.

God is Spirit; He uses things we can understand in the natural world to convey heavenly things so we might be able to understand. Understanding is made possible when we are able to see the deeper meaning of Scripture, which comes when we understand the Word of God as a symbolic book that has to be revealed.

Scripture tells us that when Jesus spoke, He spoke in parables (ref Matt 13), or earthly stories with Heavenly meanings. Jesus was trying to reveal the Kingdom of Heaven by using parables to help explain spiritual principles; however, the majority only heard the story and did nothing with it. They couldn’t see the WORD being revealed to them.

Scripture remains the same; the difference is whether we are willing to dig deeper into the parables/symbolism, as the disciples did, or if we are content with the surface level. Our level of understanding will reveal our relationship with the WORD, as well as if we truly know how His kingdom operates.

Want to find out more about the parabolic or symbolic language which Jesus used to teach? Visit us at voh.church or email connect@voh.church with your questions.

Revival is not just a gathering of people. Real revival is a hunger to know the truth. The word “revival” in ancient Hebrew speaks of life and the stomach. The Ancient Hebrew Lexicon Bible Dictionary says: “when the stomach is empty one is famished and weak and when it is filled one is revived. This organ is seen as the life of an empty stomach is like death but a revived stomach is life.”

This shows us that without the Word of God we are dead to the things of God, but when a hunger begins to rise in our souls, He promises to fill all those who are hungry and thirsty for Him, and what was dead now becomes alive (ref Mat 5:6).

“Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light” (Ephesians 5:14).

In the end, Jesus says that there will be people who will prophesy, cast out demons, and even do wonders in His name (ref Mat 7:22). However, because they do not truly know God, or have a relationship with Him, through understanding the deeper things in His Word, He will reply to them “I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness”! (Mat 7:23)

So what is “lawlessness”? According to the Ancient Hebrew, lawlessness, or iniquity, really speaks of a twisted understanding of Scripture. Likewise, to be unrighteous means you don’t understand, or have the correct interpretation of Scripture.

How many today are thinking they are doing something for Jesus, but He doesn’t know them?

The word revelation in the Greek speaks of a removal of a veil, or seeing (understanding) something you did not before. We are to pursue the knowledge of the Lord, that is, understanding who He is by seeking the mystery of Scripture (Eph 3:4, Col 2:2).

When we receive the revelation of the Word of God, or the revelation of God, we are experiencing the WORD (John 1:1). The Lord comes to us through understanding the deeper meaning of who He is and that is what sets us free!

“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32).

Who is Jerusalem?

"Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, That her warfare is ended, That her iniquity is pardoned; For she has received from the LORD's hand Double for all her sins" (Isaiah 40:2).

The word comfort in this passage speaks of teaching truth. It is the word ‘al’. According to the Ancient Hebrew Lexicon Bible, it is written using the Hebrew letters ayin and lamed, which means to “experience the staff,” or to see the teaching. Jerusalem, in the book of Revelation is called “the bride, the lamb's wife” (ref Rev 21:19). So Jerusalem is not just a place, but a people, specifically the body of Christ.

When it is written “speak comfort to Jerusalem,” it is really speaking of the deeper understanding of the Word coming to the Church.

Change My Heart

God wants us to desire a change of heart. His word says He will give us that desire.
“Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.” (Ezk 36:26)

While earnestly crying out to the Lord is the first step, we also need understanding of how to co-labor with the Lord in order to achieve the change in our heart. Just as those who want homes, jobs or even fame start with a desire, they also know there is work involved in order to obtain those desires and how to go about it.

Our mind is linked with our heart; we can tell the conditions of our heart based upon our thoughts. “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he…” (Pro 23:7).

Did you know the Bible likens milk to the Word of God?

The Apostle Peter talks about laying down bad attitudes/vices and, like a baby, to desire the milk of the Word in order to grow (ref 1Pe 2:2). Newborn babies drink milk because they are not yet at a point where they are able to eat solid food since their digestive system is not mature enough. They also don’t have teeth, therefore, are not able to chew and break down hard foods.

Milk is the Greek word gala and it is used metaphorically regarding the less difficult Christian truths.

The ‘milk of the word’ is symbolic of truths/teachings or instructions that are easier to understand for new believers.

Do you understand the difference between the milk and the meat of the Word?
