Heard #LawAndDisorder's February 27 episode on #WRCT this morning. #SeymourHersh talked about his allegations that the #US blew up the #NordStream pipelines with #Norway's help. He also talked about the #CIA manipulating #Twitter. I think there's more about that in their March 6 episode, which I'll try to listen to today the newfangled way.

Not sure what to think about Hersh, the allegations, or even the show. They are clearly anti-war, but the alternatives are pretty ghastly between #Russia and #Ukraine, and I worry that they are playing right into the #GOP's hands even if everything they're saying is true, because spin matters. Thoughts?

Heard #DemocracyNow on #WRCT this morning driving the kid to school. The guest was talking about the problems the #Fed's #InterestRate hikes were causing for other countries due to the #dollar's appreciation.

I had initially dismissed people's concerns about this, but I now realize it's a serious problem. I don't think there's much case the Fed is going to start to care, though; they care only about domestic issues, ostensibly price stability and unemployment (which they're trying to cause) but also asset prices.

The alternatives are some combination of accepting inflation and government #austerity: raise #taxes, cut spending, and pay down the #debt. That would keep interest rates low while still reducing the money supply. It could be offset a bit by private borrowing, but higher taxes would still keep the brakes on.

I don't think there's much chance we'll see austerity in the #US any time soon. The government thinks it can borrow forever, and so far it's been right.

Listening to #LawAndDisorder on #WRCT #Pittsburgh this morning, I heard #SharonKyle say that #MLK truly became a threat to the status quo when he started uniting people based on class instead of race.
