I took a trip down memory lane today. As I was working with one of my Students in class, the student mentioned the #Walkman. Oh, my Lord! That brought us to discussions of #Nintendo, the #RecordPlayer, cassette tapes, and the ever popular disc men. There’s nothing better than talk of old, #vintage technology!

I've just realised what this no name not a #walkman is trying to look like

When, years ago, I recorded this from the 45 that I bought to a cassette so that I could play it on a Walkman, the cassette tape _also_ did a fine high quality job of reproducing all of that hiss and crackle from the vinyl. My old tape recording sounded _exactly_ like this.

So #cassettes and even modern YouTube must be all as good quality as #vinyl. (-:

Seriously though.
I have an important message for young people getting into tape.
Don't buy new cassette players 'designed' by trendy kickstarters. They're all built around the low quality Tanashin mech because non of these start-ups have the resources to redesign and manufacture a new tape transport.
If you want to play with tapes and get high quality sound playback buy an actual real #walkman from the 90's manufactured by experts in their field .
