Months later, and Warrior Nun is still trending for me on Twitter, and they are still going strong on their campaign to save the show.

This does make me think that it's not about it not being a profitable show - considering the audience, and that's not a very expensive show.

Seeing the new The Chosen One announcement, I guess they just wanted to make room for that somehow?

#WarriorNun s2e5 (2022) - 8/10
Some bloody action, and some big surprises.

1️⃣ The attack/fight scenes at the end were well done. Surprising, and bloody.

2️⃣ Speaking of surprises, the revelations about Miguel were very good indeed. Did not see that coming.

3️⃣ Plenty of storytelling in this episode. We know a lot more now.

4️⃣ Their prolonged conversation has made both Lilith and Adriel much more interesting.

5️⃣ Show is in a very strong place now.

#WarriorNun s2e4 (2022) - 8/10

1️⃣ The big fight sequence is very impressive. Some stunning stuntwork.

2️⃣ The storytelling is good, too. We learn some things about Miguel, and about Lilith. Suddenly, he’s interesting. And, what is she going to do next? That conversation with Adriel was his best scene so far.

3️⃣ The fog plague and the Firstborn wearing gas masks is a great visual.

4️⃣ I cannot help but think that this would be a much better show if Mother Superion had just executed Father Vincent.

Much better.

1️⃣ This is a much tighter script/episode. No filler. And it moves the story along.

2️⃣ Having (most of) the main characters back together as a group is a plus. And there were almost no personal moments. It was pretty much exclusively devoted to telling the story.

3️⃣ The Lillith/Salvius b-plot was really strong, too.

4️⃣ It was an episode that accomplished a lot. Even the Pope scenes were interesting!

In an episode where very little happens, we get:

1️⃣ Too much of Ava and Beatrice arguing.

2️⃣ Not enough story progression.

3️⃣ A villain who seems surprisingly passive, but interesting.

4️⃣ One brief fight scene. (Which was good.)

1️⃣ Some of the dialogue is cheesy but the action and SFX are good.

2️⃣ Being the start of the second season, this episode spends a lot time jumping from location to location, from character to character, as it establishes the new status quo and reminds us of what is at stake. And who is missing in action.

3️⃣ Great scenery and locations add to the enjoyment.

We just started season 2 of #WarriorNun

On Netflix we have only watched Season 1 so far. Reluctant heroine chosen to save the world etc. But what if she really isn't the chosen one? We liked the slow place they used to express her doubt, her questioning of good and evil, what binds us together and the eventual reveal at the end set up season 2 as something interesting. Sadly another series Netflix canceled after 2 seasons.
