Pulled on cheap wetsuit from Longs, don yard sale gloves, hood, and booties. Fins on and shuffled right out into it.
Dove under breaking waves. Got out through the surf. With the big fins I was able to hold my own.
Huge #Waves In troughs, I was alone in the bottom of a big bowl of cold seawater, only the gray rowdy clouds rolling over above.
Wave crests tossed me up, whitecaps ripping off in the wind.

Large waves breaking on barrier rocks below the cliffs of #ShoreAcresStatePark outside of Charleston in #Oregon. For scale, look for people atop the cliff behind the rail fence.
I've seen larger waves, but considering it's a sunny and calm day, these breakers are of a good size.
When I got to the park, there were less than a dozen photographers, myself included. After an hour and a half of taking photos, there were more than 40 of us.
