That through our lives & by our prayers we might see God’s Kingdom come & God’s will be done here on earth as it is in heaven.

It’s following Jesus’ example of loving our neighbors where they are.

The problem with the Christian faith is that, historically, we tend to create a Jesus that looks just like us:

•hating the same people we hate
•loving the same people we love
•interpreting scripture the same way we interpret scripture
•blessing us (& not “them”)

Following the Bible, obsessing over “the Bible says,” describing the Bible with words the Bible doesn’t use for itself.

Using the Bible to avoid the narrow way of Jesus.

A head full of scripture & a heart empty of the love of Christ.

I believe in the inerrant, authoritative, infallible Word of God—& His name is Jesus.

What is the proper place of the Bible in the life of a Christian?

To point us to Jesus & to show us how to participate in the loving way of Jesus’ Kingdom Come.

It can teach & help train us to be righteous in the way that Jesus is righteous, & it can help correct us when we veer off Jesus’ narrow way.
