The lotus plant carries so much symbolism across many religions and beliefs. I happen to like the Buddhist one of rising out of the muck and opening to the sun.

The station had discharged waste for 37 days last year. Hopefully the wetland will stop that runoff entering the river network whilst also providing habitat.

Near the Herefordshire village of Bodenham, hundreds of miles of hedgerow have been planted at a nature reserve. The same site has already seen a network of pools dug to help create wetland habitat.

This Yorkshire stream which was straightened in the 18th c has now been 're-wiggled'. That slows the water speed, which makes for healthier land, better environments for wildlife and less erosion.
